IGP Commissions New Police Area Command Headquarters in Jigawa

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman vows to continue improving police welfare and enabling a working environment for effective policing promoting security, peace, and stability in the country.

The IGP stated this on Thursday while speaking at the official commissioning of the new Police force area command in Ringim local government of Jigawa state.

He noted that more such facilities will continue to be provided to strengthen police work.

“We are committed to repositioning the Police force with the provision of adequate modern working equipment, welfare, and other facilities that will enhance the capacity of the Nigerian police to tackle any insecurity challenge in the country.

“We will also continue to fortify our manpower through regular recruitment of personal from all the 774 local government areas of the federation and equally posted them back to their local government of origins for achieving the desire goals” Alkali declared

“The IG then charged the Ringing Community to take ownership of the new headquarters and join hands with police for protecting it and ensure effective utilization.”

Earlier in his welcome address the Jigawa state Commissioner of Police CP Emmanuel Efffiom Ekot thanked the IG for the visit and commissioning of the new area command which he described as a morale booster to state policemen.

The CP also promised effective maintenance and utilization of the befitting headquarters to strengthen the security, peace, and stability in the state

“Jigawa is the most peaceful state in Nigeria and with such edifice, we will continue collaborating with other security sister agencies and the public to maintain the gain” CP declared

In his part, the Jigawa state governor Alhaji Muhammad Badaru commended the effort of the IGP for the construction of the new area command headquarters and repositioning of the police force for more security of life and properties in the country.

The Governor who was represented by Secretary to the State Government, Alh Abdulkadir Gani promised to continue supporting the police force for achieving sustainable security of lives and properties in the state and beyond.
