The Sokoto State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has congratulated the winners of the just concluded 2023 general elections in the State.
A Statement jointly signed by the State Council Chairman, Dalhatu Abdullahi Safiyal Magori, and Secretary, Muhammad Nasir Bello on Wednesday congratulated the Governor-elect, His Excellency, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto FCNA and his running mate, Idris Mohammed Gobir, Senators, and other elected members of the National and State Assemblies.
The NUJ further congratulated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for the overall success of the elections.
Also in the statement, the NUJ expressed appreciation to the good people of Sokoto State for their cooperation and sense of maturity during the voting exercises despite some challenges.
It, therefore, urged winners of the elections to see the public interest as their watchword in the interest of peace and national unity.
