Philanthropist Donates Mosque to Sokoto Community

A philanthropist in Sokoto, Alhaji Ahmad Abdullahi Lula has built and donated an ultra-modern Mosque to the Rungumi Community in Sokoto South Local Government Area.

Lula, an indigene of the community handed over the new edifice on Thursday to the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III.

He said the gesture would certainly help members of the community to perform their religious obligations diligently in a comfortable environment and will contribute to the promotion of Islam in the state.

“I am not seeking for anything from anybody, but favour from Almighty Allah.

“Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said the best of mankind in this world is he whose life benefits others and impacts positively,” said Lula.

Commissioning the Mosque which was named “Sayyidina Abubakar (RA) Mosque,” the Sultan, represented by Dr. Ahmed Gidadawa appreciated the donor for the gesture.

His Eminence, the Sultan noted that the Sultanate Council would continue to support all well-meaning individuals ready to contribute to the development of Muslims and Islam in the state and the country at large.

The Sultan urged wealthy individuals to always sacrifice their resources for the good work of Allah by constructing Mosques, and Islamic schools and providing other charities in the state.

Earlier in remarks the Guest Speaker, Professor Mansur Ibrahim, lauded the founder, saying “Mosque construction is one of the best charities that is rewarded even after death.”

He called on the benefiting community to take full ownership of the project for their spiritual development.
