The All Progressive Congress, (APC) in Kano has concluded plans to challenge the outcome of the March 18 governorship election in the tribunal.
The Spokesperson of APC in Kano, Ahmed Aruwa, Saturday, said the party has directed its legal team to commence legal processes challenging the outcome of that election at the election petition tribunal sitting at Miller Road Court complex.
He said the party is suing NNPP, its gubernatorial candidate, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to him, “the Kano APC faults the results declared by INEC, which confirmed the candidate of the NNPP as the winner of the governorship polls.
“INEC’s declaration of NNPP candidate as winner contravenes the provisions of the laws regulating the overall conduct of the election.
“The APC is of the strong conviction that the declaration exercise is in violation of the laid down electoral laws, which prompted the decision by APC to proceed in search for legal redress before the court with competent jurisdiction.”
