He appreciated the teeming electorates in the state for their overwhelming support at the gubernatorial and state house of assembly elections held on Saturday.

Aliyu who stands as a gubernatorial candidate under APC scored 453,662 votes to defeat his close rival Saidu Umar Ubandoma of the people’s Democratic Party (PDP) who also scored 404,632 votes in the just concluded gubernatorial election.

”My administration will listen to the yearnings and aspirations of the citizens with a view to meeting up the campaign promises.

“I will strengthen the civil service by making it more productive, and ensure payment is salaries, pension, and gratuity as at when due.

”My administration will welcome constructive criticisms from Nigerians and urged those that contested with him to consider the situation as destiny and join hand with him in the development of the state,” Aliyu said.

The governor-elect expressed gratitude to Senàtor Aliyu Wamakko, the Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi, Sokoto State APC Chairman, Alhaji Sadiq Achida, other party stalwarts, stakeholders, and party loyalists for their support which facilitated his victory.

He called on other candidates that participated in the election but could not win to join hands with his quest to make the state a better place where peace and prosperity will reign.
