Ganduje Appoints Dr. Tijjani Hussaini, 11 Others as Perm. Secs.

The Executive Governor of Kano State, Dr. Ganduje has appointed the hitherto Executive Secretary of Kano State Primary Healthcare Development Board (KNSPHCMB), Dr. Tijjani Hussaini as Permanent Secretary in the state civil service with immediate effect.

The state government spokesperson, Abba Anwar in a statement on Wednesday said his appointment is with immediate effect.

Ganduje, according to the statement disclosed that “the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries proved their mettle in public service engagement. We believe in their undoubting capacity, as diligent screening and scrutiny were applied in the selection process.”

Those appointed alongside Dr. Tijjani Hussain, who was the Executive Secretary of, the State Primary Healthcare Development Board (KNSPHCMB) are Engineer Mansur Yakubu, who until his new appointment was a Director from the Ministry of Works, Salisu Dan Azumi, who was a Director from the Ministry for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs and Dr. Sa’adatu Sa’idu Bala, who was a Director from Ministry of Health.

Others are Ahmad Tijjani Abdullahi, who was before his new appointment the Executive Secretary, of the Science and Technical Schools Board, Baba Sharu Dala, who was a Director of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, and Aliyu Yakubu, Garo, was a Director from Ministry of Tourism.

The new appointment includes Abbas Sanusi, who was hitherto from the Judiciary, and Yahaya Nuhu Amasaye, who until his new appointment was Director of the Ministry for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs.

Aisha Abba Kailani was also appointed as Permanent Secretary, she was before now from the Office of the Head of Service, Mustapha Madaki Huguma, before his new appointment as Director of State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), and Musa Tanko Garko, was also from the Office of the Head of Service.

“I directed them to always work with their staff wherever they would be posted, as diligently as expected of them. They must consider teamwork to be part of their service delivery,” he directed.

While directing them to always have listening ears, he reminded them that “They all passed through highly skilled scrutiny before they emerged as new appointees. You should always remember that all eyes are on you now to measure your individual performance.”

Their swearing-in will take place on Thursday at Coronation Hall Government House, Kano, by 2 pm.
