All Progressive Congress (APC) Jigawa State Chapter has condemned the attack on its headquarters in Maigatari local government by suspected Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) thugs which left one dead and many others injured.
The State Chairman of APC, Hon. Aminu Sani Gumel made the remarks while reacting to the attack which he described as barbaric, uncivilized, and inhuman.
He said they are fully aware that, PDP in the state has recruited over 200 thugs for such nefarious acts, terrorizing electorates and destabilizing peace and order in the state.
Hon. Gumel who faulted the PDP candidate for resorting to terrorism as they foresaw imminent defeat in the forthcoming election, says such behavior is unacceptable.
He however called reasonable people in PDP, security agencies, religious leaders, and Jigawa elders to call the thugs to order before it becomes too late to cry.
The APC Chairman also called on the party members to remain calm and not take the law into their hands as the matter has already been reported to the authority concerned.
Similarly, the Senatorial Candidate of APC, Jigawa North-East Zone, Amb. Ahmed Abdulhamid Mallan Madori expressed dismay over the attack and described it as miserable, barbaric, and unacceptable.
“This unfortunate incident and other similar in Gagarawa ND Roni is a clear testimony on how PDP resorted to violence as a means of grasping political power despite the peace accords sign on free violence campaign,” he stated.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Jigawa State Police Command, DSP Lean Shisu said, five people were arrested in connection to the violence that happened during PDP gubernatorial campaign rally in Maigatari local government area.
