The Central Bank of Nigeria Dutse Branch Jigawa state has embarked on Bank and ATM patrol to ensure only new Naira Notes are dispensed to customers in line with the Naira redesign policy.
The branch controller Hajiya Sa”adtu Ibrahim revealed this when she visited the Dutse Central market as part of their sensitization tour.
Sa’adatu explained that there are so many reasons for the Naira redesign which included fight against corruption, inflation, fake currency, insecurity, and hoarding currency.
Mrs. Sa’adatu stated that the apex bank will not allow any act of sabotage in the implementation of the Naira redesign policy either from the institution, private or individual.
The CBN then called on the businessmen and the general public to continue accepting the old note till January 31st and also not delay in taking and depositing the old note to the nearest bank for exchange with new ones
“The three redesigned denominations of N1000, N500, and N200 banknotes were unveiled on November 23, 2022, by President Muhammad Buhari and all Banks are directed to implement the policy while CBN is providing enabling environment and also facilitating the process for achieving the desire goals”.
In his part, the chairman Jigawa marketers Associations Alhaji Yahaya Kwaimawa, appreciate the Central Bank of Nigeria for its efforts in redesigning the naira and imposing new e-naira policy and cashless policy with a view to reducing armed robbery and another Money laundering across Nigeria.
He assured that his leadership will sensitize people on the importance of the Naira redesign policy and the need for public support.
