Major stakeholders in Kogi central have appealed to Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to maintain peace as the Ohinoyi of Ebira land, Dr. Ado Ibrahim has replied to the query issued to him by the state government.
Mallam Yusuf Zubairu who spoke on behalf of the stakeholders said it will be unfair if the issue of traditional stool bring disharmony to the center, pointing out that what the people of Ebira land need at this critical stage are peace and harmony.
He noted that the best thing that the governor can do for his people is to maintain peace before he hands over in January 2024, stressing that anything short of that will definitely affect the senatorial district.
Also speaking on the issue, Hajia Memunat Rabiu said the Paramount ruler is father to the people of Ebira land and the governor should please accord him that respect.
She noted that nothing is permanent except change.
Rabiu called on the people of the land to kindly speak to the governor so that whatever sin the monarch must have committed, he should be forgiven so that they can have peace in the land.
Mallam Sule Ohida while reacting on the issue said since the monarch has answered the query issued to him by the state government, the governor should see him as his father and forgive him if at he committed any offense.
“Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello as of today is the governor of Kogi State and he must be respected. The monarch too should give the governor his due respect to avoid any acrimony in Ebira land.
“We want peace; we don’t want any issue that will divide us. Ebira land must grow and we must all rally round to the land forward,” he said.
