Mammoth Crowd Gather as APC Takes Campaign to Kebbi North

An unprecedented mammoth crowd of people heralded the flag-off of the APC zonal campaign rally for Kebbi North at the Kangiwa Headquarters of the Arewa Local Government Area of the state.

A multitude of APC supporters and admirers from Argungu, Augie, Arewa, Dandi, Suru, and Bagudo local government areas thronged the venue of the rally held at the open space in frontage of the palace of the Mai Arewan Kangiwa to listen to various speakers who brought glad tidings of uplifting the socio-economic prosperity of the society.

Mounting the podium, the APC Chairman Arewa Local Government, Alhaji Sani Zamarde, was overwhelmed by the large gathering of people, saying Arewa has always been the home of APC and urged the inhabitants to demonstrate such support by voting massively for the party in the forthcoming elections.

In the same vein, the APC candidate for the state House of Assembly, Arewa Local Government, former SSG and Commissioner, Hon. Nura Usman Kangiwa made it clear that Arewa would deliver victory to the APC at all levels at the polls.

Hon. Nura Kangiwa described the Kebbi state APC gubernatorial candidate Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, as a professional, qualified teacher known for his philanthropy to the people.

He enumerated education, livestock production, health, agriculture, and power supply as major areas Dr. Nasir Idris would attach importance to if elected governor in view of their prominence to the wellbeing of humanity.

Similarly, the APC candidate for the House of Representatives, Arewa/Dandi constituency, former SSG and commissioner, Hon. Garba Rabi’u Kamba expressed happiness about the continuing support of the APC by the people of Kebbi North, saying the large gathering at the flag-off zonal rally was heart-gladdening.

Hon. Garba Rabi’u Kamba was emphatic that no other party has continued to shine like the APC which was set for victory in the coming elections.

In a somber mood, the APC Senatorial candidate, Kebbi North, retired Comptroller of Customs, Federal Operations, Dr. Hussaini Suleiman Kangiwa, Sarkin Arawan Kabi, prayed fervently for the repose of the soul of his twin brother, retired Comptroller of Immigration, Late Hassan Suleiman Kangiwa.

Dr. Hussaini Kangiwa remarked that himself and his late twin brother popularly known as ‘Yan Tawaye were well known to people for their philanthropy and solicited massive votes for the APC to secure victory at this year’s elections.

On his part, the Kebbi State APC Deputy-Governorship candidate, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafidan Kabi, expressed gratitude to all APC supporters for their unwavering love and support of the party.

Senator Tafida cautioned the electorate against casting their votes for novices, saying the state APC gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Nasir Idris, was the right person for the job because he has been destined for the position by God.

He added that Dr. Nasir Idris has been a benevolent person devoid of envy or wickedness toward others, and deserved the votes of the people of Kebbi state as their Chief Executive Officer in the forthcoming polls.

In separate comments on the rostrum, the Chairman, of APC Elders’ Forum, Alhaji Sani Hukuma Zauro, Zannan Gwandu, and the Director-General, of APC State Campaign Council, former Governor Sa’idu Usman Nasamu Dakingari, thanked all APC supporters for hearkening to the call of the party always.

Alhaji Sa’idu Dakingari informed the gathering that his successor, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, has upheld the legacy started by his administration of economic and infrastructural development, urging members of the APC to uphold the trend by voting for Dr. Nasir Idris as Governor as well as other APC candidates.

The APC candidate, Dr. Nasir Idris received overwhelming applause and an ovation as he stepped up to the podium.

Dr. Nasir pointed out that the large gathering at the zonal rally has debunked insinuations that the PDP has taken over Arewa local government.

He explained that Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu was supposed to be the special guest at the event but was attending to official matters in Abuja as assigned to him by President Muhammadu Buhari.

However, the governor has been well represented at the rally as evidenced by the caliber of personalities present.

Dr. Nasir Idris made it clear that although it was not in his character to respond to mudslinging by the opposition, he has been compelled to enlighten his major opponent who referred to him as an ordinary teacher.

The APC candidate added that whatever position his opponent attained in the military, was premised on the education he received from the teacher.

The Kauran Gwandu said he spent thirty-five years in service of his career in Kebbi state during which he helped several people to secure employment as teachers or civil servants in his capacity as chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers NUT and the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC.

He told the gathering that this was unlike his opponent who has been away from the people throughout his sojourn in the military.

In addition, Dr. Nasir Idris said he has conducted medical outreach during which thousand, of five hundred people with eye defects, were treated.

Dr. Nasir Idris expressed gratitude to God for the peaceful conduct of the APC Zonal rally, urging all members to sustain support for the party.

In votes of thank, the Chairman, Arewa Local Government, Hon. Sani Aliyu Tela Kangiwa, thanked the DG Campaign Council, former Governor Sa’idu Dakingari, and other stakeholders for mobilizing massive attendance to the rally.

He further thanked all APC members for their love for the party, urging them to elect all its candidates in the forthcoming elections.

In an interview in his office, with journalists, Hon. Sani Aliyu Kangiwa expressed immense appreciation to Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, for making it possible to the people of the Arewa local government to embark on dry-season farming for the first time, through the use of artisanal dams.

The Local Government Chairman explained that Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu mandated him to travel to the Niger Republic to study the blueprint for such an innovative water supply system for application in Arewa local government area.

Alhaji Yusuf Haruna gave an assurance that the traditional institution in the state was solidly in support of the candidacy of Dr. Nair Idris to win the governorship election.

Other speakers at the forum were, the state APC Women Leader, Hajiya Aisha Abubakar Gunabi, the Speaker, of Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Sani Abubakar Lolo, the Chairman, of APC Elders’ Forum, Alhaji Sani Hukuma Zauro, Zannan Gwandu, former State APC Chairman, Barrister Attahiru Maccido, retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Umar Ambursa and the Member, House of Representatives, Suru/Bagudo Constituency, Hon. Muhammad Bello Dallatu
