Kano Assembly: FMCH Bill Scales First Reading

Kano State Free Maternal and Child Healthcare (FMCH) Bill 2022 has scaled the first reading on the Floor of the State House of Assembly (KHoA)

The bill which was a Private Member Bill sponsored by the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Pharmacist Magaji Dahiru Zarewa, Rogo Constituency, and Hon. Dr. Musa Ali Kachako Takai Constituency was read by the Clerk and Head of Legislative Service, Alhaji Garba Bako Gezawa.

The FMCH Bill was unanimously agreed upon by the Honourable Members during Wednesday’s plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Engineer Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari.

The Kano State Pensions and Gratuity Amendment law, 2022, sponsored by the Majority Leader, Hon. Labaran Abdul Madari, a Member representing Warawa Constituency also scaled the first reading.

Similarly, Kano State and Local Government Revenue administration, codification and consolidation, Amendment law, 2022 and that of Kano State Emirate to Council, Amendment law 2022 as well as that of KHoA Service Commission, Amendment Law received a first reading.

In addition, the State Traffic Law 1963 which was sponsored by the Majority Leader, Hon Labaran Abdul Madari has also scaled the first reading by the Clerk of the House.

The bills and Amendment Laws will undergo further legislative actions before being passed into Law.
