The New Nigerian People Party (NNPP) Presidential candidate, Engineer Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso has promised to fortify Nigerian Security architecture by 400 percent for tackling the existing and future security challenges in the country.
He stated this during his presidential campaign rally held in Dutse capital Jigawa state.
Dr. Kwankwaso noted that the lingering security challenge in the country is a source of concern as people and property are killed and destroyed on a daily basis.
According to him, the alleged lackadaisical attitude shown by the authority’s concern with increasing the number of security personnel, and providing, the provision of modern weapons and other technical support is what makes it difficult for the country to overcome the challenges.
“Considering the Nigerian population and comparing it with the number of security personnel there is no way that they (security) can handle crime and criminal activities in Nigeria.
“God willing when I became Nigerian president, I will multiply the number of police, military, DSS civil defense, etc by 400 percent,” he declared.
The presidential candidate also promised to operate an all-inclusive government by strengthening Community participation in governance under a program called the “Community Participation Reorientation Committee” (CPRC).
He said under the CPRC program, a provision for monthly funds allocation will be made to every political ward to take care of some emergencies and minus repairs of public facilities at the community level.
He further promised to review the JAMB, NECO, and WAEC fees, for increasing access to education for youth, creating jobs opportunities for wealth creation, and poverty eradication which will in return help in security improvement in the country.
Speaking earlier the JIgawa state NNPP gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Aminu Ibrahim Ringim called on the people to vote for his party’s candidates at all levels for positive change.
