Kano State Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy will collaborate with the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) for the speedy development of the state.
The Commissioner of the Ministry, Dr. Lamin Sani Zawiyya stated this while receiving the management staff of SEMA in his office.
Dr. Lamin who described the relevance of the Agency in terms of disaster management called on people in the state to provide useful information to the agency to enable it to serve establishments
He explained that the Kano state government will not relent in its effort in making sure that the agency will continue serving people and compete with the rest of its state counterparts across the country.
The Commissioner then commended the executive secretary of the management for his tireless efforts and immense concern towards giving succor to any disaster-afflicted area.
Earlier speaking the executive secretary of the Agency, comrade Sale Jili said that they were at the ministry to introduce the management’s policies in terms of disaster management and intervention through the setting up the local government emergency committees to o reduce the menaces
Comrade Sale Jili maintained that the committees when set up at the local government levels will be given training on how to provide their contributions to disaster management.
He then commended the state governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for his efforts in achieving the set objectives of the management.
