The President of HM Group, Malam Hamisu Magaji has denied allegations of trespass and intimidation published against him by some Media Organisations in Kano.

Malam Hamisu Magaji denied the allegations on Saturday during a News briefing with journalists at the Kano Council Secretariat of the Nigerian Union of Journalists.

He said such reports used by such Media Organisations did not reflect the actual happening of the matter.

He said the actual thing that happened was that he instructed his former lawyer, Ibrahim Umar Abere to engage in a negotiation of the sale of one of his houses located at Sharada Federal Housing Authority Estate (FHA) to be sold at N46 million.

His former lawyer came back to him that the price was too high for which Magaji agreed to sell at a price of 40 million Naira and a buyer has offered to purchase it at the said amount to which he agreed.

“After the buyer paid the money to the former lawyer Abere, he dishonestly transferred the sum of N37.25 million to my account.

“On getting underpaid I immediately challenged him on the misdeed of the missing balance of N2.75 million which he failed to remit.

“Consequently, in the cause of investigation, I then discovered that the house was actually sold at the sum of 46 million Naira.

“Thereafter I immediately wrote a cheque of N37.75 million and dropped it at my ex-lawyers office, and informed him that I was no longer interested in selling of my house.

“A week later, Abere rushed and transferred into my account the N2.75 million balance payment that he had earlier withheld against my will” Magaji stated.

He further alleged breach and abuse of trust perpetrated was what led to the sacking of the ex-lawyer.

“I also demanded that he returned all my documents that were in his custody but instead of him to oblige, he started threatening, blackmailing, and intimidating me while also revealing my legal secrets to my adversaries” he further stated.

Magaji expressed dissatisfaction with the erroneous stories about the case which he claimed had damaged his reputation as a renowned businessman and politician.

He then called on the Journalist who used similar stories to promptly retract the false and defamatory claims they have published against him in the interest of justice and fairness.

Stallion Times reports that Magaji is the Convener of Tinubu/Shettima and Gawuna/Garo of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano.
