Sokoto PRP Leadership Defects to APC

The leadership of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) in Sokoto State under its gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Sa’idu Muhammad Gumburawa has dissolved into the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This followed the defection of all three Senatorial Candidates in the state that include Sokoto Central District, Alh.Garzali Abdullahi, Alh.Bello Isah Holai, Sokoto East Senatorial District as well as that of Sokoto South Senatorial  District.

Other defectors were all PRP candidates for the House of  Representatives, the State House of Assembly, and all party officials in the state and local government areas.

The leader of the party who also double as gubernatorial flagbearer in the state, Honourable Sa’idu Muhammad Gumburawa told APC leader, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko that they decided to dump their former party with a view to contributing their quota to ensure the victory of APC in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

He stated considering the situation people found themselves under PDP led administration they wish to team up with APC and its leaders to win the 2023 elections in Sokoto state and restore the lost glory of the state.

He hopes that an administration similar to that of former Governor  Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko would emerge in 2023.

Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko while receiving the PRP defectors described Honourable Gumburawa as a friend and partner in the development and progress of Sokoto state.

Senator Wamakko assured Hon. Gumburawa that APC would work with him and his teeming supporters closely to ensure the victory of the APC and a harmonious working relationship.

In his remarks, the APC governorship Candidate, Hon. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, Congratulated Hon. Gumburawa and his allies for joining APC and assured them of equal treatment like all other members of the APC family.

 Aliyu pledged to carry everybody along if given the mandate to govern the state,  adding that he would ensure the provision of qualitative healthcare delivery, educational development, boosting trade and investments, agricultural enhancement, civil servant’s welfare, and other social developmental aspects.

The event held at the residence of APC leader, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko was attended by APC Senators for Sokoto East and Sokoto South Senatorial Districts, Ibrahim Abdullahi Danbaba Dambuwa and Engineer Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir respectively.

Others were the Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, APC Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate, Hon. Idris Muhammad Gobir,

APC Zonal Secretary for North/ West, Barrister Bello Muhammad Goronyo, Hon. Abdullahi Kalambaina represents Kware/Wamakko federal Constituency and other APC stalwarts in the state.
