The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Salihu Tanko Yakasai has urged electorates to vote for competent leaders during the 2023 general elections for good governance and to reduce hardship in the country.
Yakasai made the remarks on Wednesday during an interview with journalists at the interactive session for gubernatorial candidates organized by 21 Non- Governmental organizations at Babale Suites, Kano.
According to him, “we are in a crucial time in the country and it is expedient that people should do the right thing.
“Ensure that you give your votes to the right person at any level of the 2023 general elections.
“Elect people based on what they can offer because, at the end of the day, we will all suffer the consequences if we don’t get it right.”
The PRP gubernatorial candidate commended the organizers of the event and revealed that it is an opportunity for candidates to tell stakeholders what they intend to do if elected.
“This event is timely and different, unlike debates where candidates have limited time to explain their manifesto.
“The interactive session has given us the opportunity to discuss extensively the key thematic areas, which are economic growth, health, education, infrastructure, environment, public service reform, and security and by the grace of God these are achievable in terms of implementation, he averred.
“We recently unveiled our manifesto which clearly defines the problems bedeviling the development of Kano state, and we offered workable solutions to such problems.
“Before we developed the manifesto, we did extensive research which enabled us to identify the areas that require urgent attention, therefore, by knowing the problems, it will be easy for us to address them squarely, he added.
