The Director General Kano investment promotion Agency and Diaspora, Hajiya Hama Ali Aware said Kano State Government would continue to provide more investment opportunities to the willing investors as means of economic transformation.
Responding to the Journalists’ questions in her office, Hajiya Hama maintained that Kano being the Gateway to West African Markets, riched with available natural and human resources, would continue to partner and support investors to establish Public Private Partnership projects, especially in areas of technology, renewal energy, manufacturing and agricultural value chain among others.
She said: “Giving room for investment opportunities will remain the priority agenda of Ganduje’s administration as job creation entails the most basic good governance of any administration.
“So, Kano being the most popular state in Nigeria and one of the largest non-oil economies in the country, and through the commercial orientation of our people, we are able to offer easy access to investors, entrepreneurs, innovators, and partners within the ecosystem of investment around the whole world.”
She added that investment in Kano provides several benefits to the willing investors that could not be achieved anywhere due to the historical origin of the state as a Subsaharan trade center for many centuries.
According to her, the state had the largest labor force; a perfect business environment and adequate investment promotion acts that turned it to be more attractive for investors.
Hama further stated that the administration of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje had done a lot in giving all the necessary support to the Agency to ensure effective and efficient investment service delivery in the state.
She pointed out that the state had earlier developed policies structural reforms process, and enhanced strategies to expand the inflow of investment and create a good atmosphere for investors.
“The Agency partake several investment engagements which have successfully secured more than1 billion USD investment into the state with several others in the pipeline.
“As for the ease of doing business, Kano state has been moving consistently towards the top of the chart of ease of doing business and that is why we are inviting investors all over the world to come to Kano and invest,” she said.
While assuring investors of a befitting working environment, the Director General explained that the Agency had taken the necessary stage and process to safeguard any investment that comes into the state, stressing that their door would remain open for more investors in all sectors of the national economy.
