Foundation Donates Relief Materials to 1,200 Flood Victim Families in Jigawa

Baba Azumi Foundation has donated relief materials to 1,200 flood victims in three local government areas of Jigawa state.

Speaking at the presentation of the materials the chairman of the foundation Barrister Aisha Suleiman Jahun said the donation was given in collaboration with Action Aid and Starfund partners.

She explained that the assistance was given to minimize the hardship being experienced by the victims following the flood which damaged their houses, properties, and source of livelihood.

Barrister Aisha added that the relief materials included N20,000 for each woman in the family, food, personal/environmental Sanitary materials, and clothes among others.

“We have sourced and presented these relief materials to assist the flood victims to reduce their hardship, and improve personal and environmental hygiene to avoid disease outbreaks in the affected communities.

“We are not doing anything new but we are doing our own part to complement the effort of governments, individuals and other organizations that are assisting the flood victims in Jigawa state and other parts of the country.”

She then reiterated the commitment of the Baba Azumi Foundation to support less privileged, disaster victims and victims of social violence in society.
