A foundation, Nasara Initiative for Women and Youth Empowerment will reach out to no fewer than 1,300 eye patients with free eye treatment in Kebbi State.
Flagging off the program on Monday at the General Hospital Kalgo, the Kebbi State Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Governor Alhaji Babale Umar Yauri mni commended the organizers of the program, urge other philanthropists and donor agencies to emulate the same gesture.
He added that the foundation has initiated an outreach that has a direct bearing on the vulnerable people in the Communities.
“I must thank the wife of the APC Governorship candidate Hajiya Zainab Nasara for bringing this good work, this will help many people who are not capable of going to the hospital with their money,” he said.
Also speaking, the coordinator of the foundation, Abdulrazaq Bala said that out of 1,300 targeted patients 300 will undergo cataract surgery while the remaining 1000 will be given medical Glasses and treatment.
He added that recently the foundation also flags off a skills acquisition program where Youth both men and women will train on different skills.
The program which was in collaboration with the Tulsi Chanrai Foundation was aimed to reduce the suffering of people with different eye sicknesses who cannot afford to go to the hospital.
Also Speaking the founder of the program and the wife of the Kebbi State APC Governorship candidate Hajiya Zainab Nasare who was represented by the Board chairman Usman Abubakar thank the Kebbi State Governor for supporting the outreach, and assured the people of more gestures most especially the one that will benefit less privilege.
In his remarks, the Projects Manager Tulsi Chanrai Foundation Mr. Chandrakant Deshpande Commended the founder of the program adding that the outreach will last for four days.
