Khadijat Saidu, Birnin Kebbi
A student of Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic Birnin Kebbi has allegedly committed suicide right inside the Nigerian Civil Defense Corp (NSCDC) cell in Kebbi state.
A young man, Victor Musa from Zuru Local Government Area allegedly slaughtered himself with a razor blade under the custody where he was kept for a safe keeping.
The incident happened around 3 – 4 pm on Sunday and the authority of NSCDC immediately rushed the deceased body to Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital Birnin Kebbi for confirmation of his death.
According to a reliable source who wished to remain anonymous, the deceased, Musa, was brought on Saturday night to the NSCDC office by his relative for a safe keeping because of his involvement in substance abuse.
He was said to have slaughtered himself with a razor blade right inside the cell room of NSCDC where he was locked up alone.
Before his death, he was a diploma student at Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic Birnin Kebbi.
