The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) Sokoto state Command has arrested and paraded 5 bandits who specialized in kidnapping and acts of banditry in Sokoto, the state metropolis.
The suspects were said to be arrested after kidnapping Three persons and collecting a ransom of Four million and 1.5 million Naira respectively at Gidan Dare area of Sokoto metropolis a.
The State Commandant of the NSCDC, Sale Dada said the command has succeeded in arresting the suspect after intelligent information and trailing them for long period.
He said Dan Hassan the syndicate leader was arrested alongside his cohorts who according to NSCDC have been terrorizing the area and neighboring communities in Sokoto North local government.
Dan Hassan the group leader is said to have a possible link to other kidnapping syndicates operating in some parts of the state.
Dada further told newsmen that the suspects have been given sleepless nights to the people of Gidan dare and Runjiñ Sabo areas of the state capital.
He said the suspect after a thorough investigation would be prosecuted in a court of law to account for the many Kidnappings and atrocities committed before this recent arrest.
The NSCDC commandant reiterated that the command would not rest until all criminal gangs are brought to justice and their hideouts destroyed, saying that the relative peace enjoyed by citizens of the state must be returned at all cost.
