Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters in Kano on Monday defied rain to cheer and welcome the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

The rains which started in the early hours of the day fell to mid-day causing floods in many parts of the state.

Club Road, Murtala Muhammed Way, Ahmadu Bello Way down to Hadejia road round-about leading to the resident of the former Governor of Kano State, Sen. Ibrahim Shekarau were crowded with supporters obstructing vehicular movement under the heavy downpour.

Young men, women, and even children were not left out as some were seen on horses, singing, jubilating, and rendering praises despite the rains.

The PDP presidential candidate who arrived in Kano on Sunday with his entourage came into the state for a scheduled meeting with Sen. Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau.

Atiku’s entourage has the Vice-presidential candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa, former vice president, Namadi Sambo, the National Chairman of the PDP, Iyorchia Ayu, and the former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, and other big party chieftains.
