Tambuwal Orders Release of Tuition Fees for Students in Kano, Sudan

Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has approved the release of N369.2m for the payment of tuition and registration fees to Sokoto State students studying in various institutions of higher learning in the Republic of Sudan and Istikama University, Sumaila Kano State for 2022/2023 academic session.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the State Scholarship Board, Alhaji Bello Isah, and made available to journalists in Sokoto.

According to the statement, the breakdown of the amount released shows that N284m were for the payment of tuition fees for the state students in the Republic of Sudan while N85.2m were for transport and tuition fees of 100 Students sponsored to Istikama University, Sumaila, Kano State, adding that the students were currently undergoing their studies in the institutions.

In a related development, the Governor has released another N75.5m for the payment of Sokoto State indigenes pursuing matriculation program at Usmanu Danfodiyo Unversity Sokoto for the 2022/2023 academic session.

The Permanent Secretary, therefore, appealed to the sponsored students to appreciate the state government’s huge investment in them.
