26 Police Officers Promoted in Kebbi

Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP. Ahmed Magaji-Kontagora has decorated 26 Police Officers with the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) in the state.

Magaji-Kontagora, while decorating the officers in Birnin Kebbi urged the officers to be ready for a new tasks and responsibilities ahead of them.

He said: “The promotion is in recognition of their contributions to the development of the country in terms of fighting crime and criminality.

Adding that ‘to whom much is given, much more is expected’, responsibilities are higher now as you are expected to pay back to the society.”

Magaji-Kontagora said that the promotion was in line with the Inspector General of Police’s manpower development policy.

“The promotion is also aimed at boosting the morale of the police personnel for effective service delivery.

“It is also aimed at identifying, elevating and positioning deserving officers professionally,” he said.

Magaji-Kontagora congratulated the beneficiaries and their families on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Usman Baba.

The commissioner urged them to reciprocate the gesture by exhibiting high professionalism, to members of the public and respect for human rights.

A Superintendent of Police, Alhaji Abubakar Iliyasu, who spoke on behalf of the newly promoted officers, thanked the IGP, the Police Service Commission and the CP for finding them worthy of the promotion.

While assuring that they would re-double their efforts to justifying the confidence reposed in them.
