In its determination to promote efficient management of criminal justice institutions, speedy dispensation of justice, prevention of crime in society, and protection of the rights and interests of the suspects, the dependent, and the victims of the crimes, Jigawa State Government established the Administration of Criminal Justice Law in the state.
Governor Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar made this known in his address at the Roundtable Symposium on the Implementation and Enforcement of the Jigawa State Administration of Criminal Justice Law, 2019 at the Manpower Institute Dutse, the Jigawa State Capital.
The Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to Governor, Habibu Kila in a statement, Wednesday, quoted the governor saying his administration in collaboration with some donor agencies ensured the application of the law and also conducted training for Judicial officers, prosecutors, investigators, lawyers in the ministry of justice, legal practitioners in the justice sector, and the Law Reform Commission and court clerks aimed at capacity building.
In addition, members of the public were also carried along in the implementation of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law.
According to the statement, Badaru said his administration will continue to ensure sector institutions are working to the optimum level and will also support law reforms that will enhance justice and fairness in the administration of justice.
