KSPHCMB, SMoH, SHCSSC Organizes 3-Day Training of HFs on DRF Operation

Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board (KSPHCMB) with support from Sustainable Health Commodity Supply System Committee, SHCSSC has organized a 3-day training of health facilities on Drug Revolving Fund, (DRF) operations.

The objectives of the training were for the participant to learn the concept of Kano state DRF, and how to manage, and operate DRF in their health facilities.

In his remarks, while declaring the workshop open, the Executive Secretary (ES) of the Board, Dr. Tijjani Hussaini enjoined the new facilities that will start DRF operations to abide by the standard operational guidelines of the scheme and ensure the successful sustainability of the Scheme.

Also speaking at the event, the Director of Pharmaceutical Services State Ministry of Health, Pharmacist Kamilu Mudi Salisu Highlighted the objectives of the DRF Scheme which is aim at ensuring good quality essential medicines available in the health facilities at affordable prices thereby increasing access to quality medicines to Kano state citizens through public health facilities.

He then commended the ES of the Board, Dr. Tijjani Hussaini for his efforts towards the successful hosting of the workshop.

The training was about scaling up the number of DRF PHCs with 30 new additional health facilities across many local government areas in the state.

There are currently 815 DRF health facilities in the state, 44 General hospitals, 765 PHC, and 6 Faith-based organizations.
