In his effort to optimize the presence of road networks between the Kano Emirate and other Emirates of the state, Kano state governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje inspected a 60km road linking a part of Kumbotso local government that links to 5 more local governments up to Karaye town of Karaye Emirate.
Ganduje’s spokesperson in a statement on Saturday said the road, which is over 80 percent at completion stage, is expected to be completed by the end of December this year.
The road links Kumbotso, Rimingado, Gwarzo, Kabo, Tofa and Karaye local governments areas.
The governor assured that, “The state government will put all the necessary effort to see that the project is completed within the stipulated time.”
He said: “When we came to start the project, we found that there were 5 bridges, but to make the project more viable we added another 2 bridges. And all the 7 bridges are completed.”
“The road was the oldest road linking Kano and other places from northern axis of the state.”
He further added that, “We are doing such project to ease transportation of farm produce from our rural areas and to also take development to their doorsteps.”
