Community Policing: 344 Constables to Work in Their Communities

Not fewer than 344 newly passed out Police Constables have been redeployed to Jigawa State Police Command, after having six months intensive and rigorous training in basic, intermediate and advance Police studies with newly Police Reformation Agenda at Police College Kaduna (PCK), and Police Training School Bauchi (PTS).

A statement by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, on Tuesday said the newly passed out Police Constables were posted to their respective Local Government Areas, to further deepen the Community Policing Strategy.

The constables were drawn from the twenty-seven (27) Local Government Areas in the State, in due regards to the President and Federal character Commission’s directives.

According to the statement, while receiving them at the Jigawa State Command Dutse, the Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Sale Tafida who was represented by DC Admin, DCP Emanuel O. Toluse welcome and congratulated the constables back to their state.

The police constables had successful completed a training which engaged the police constables in physical exerting and intellectually challenging training activities which was carefully designed to transit them from civilian’s mentality to professional Police Officers with the right orientation to meet the challenges of policing the modern world.

The DC lamented that, discipline is the bedrock of Police, he warned them to remain discipline, loyal, exercise fairness, justice, dedication, exhibits high level of professionalism and shun from any corrupt practice, if they want to succeed and stay long in Police career.

The Command assured the good people of Jigawa that, the newly passed out Police are being evolved to protect Nigerians with courage and serve them with compassion.

It also solicits citizens’ support and cooperation to enable them to discharge their legitimate duty.

The statement said, the newly passed out Police while giving vote of thanks, appreciated Mr. President, Hon Minister for Police Affairs and Chairman Police Service Commission for approving the regular recruitment of ten thousand Junior Carder, Police Constables every year to make up for the existing manpower deficit needs of the Force.

They also thank the Inspector General of Police IGP Alkali Usman Baba Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Command CP Aliyu Tafida and Jigawa State Government for the good job right from recruitment process up to the passing out parade.

And promised to work diligently, efficiently, and elevated the Nigeria Police Force into a higher level.
