Bagudu Approves Payment of 2021 Gratuity, Death Benefits

Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has approved the sum of Two Billion, Nine Hundred and Eighty-One Million, Eight Hundred and Fifty-Six Thousand, Four Hundred and Sixty-Five Naira, Forty-Eight Kobo (N2,981,856,465.48) for the payment of 2021 gratuity and death benefit in the state.

Bagudu, in a statement issued by the Ag. Head of Service, Alh. Safiyanu Garba Bena said the payment is to cover One Thousand, One Hundred, and Seventy-Two (1,172) beneficiaries of the State, Local Government, and Local Government Education Authority (LGEA).

According to the statement, the latest approval from the Governor was part of the determined effort of the Kebbi State Government to ensure that all retired workers receive their benefits as when due.

It will be recalled that, in line with the determined commitment of the Governor to the welfare of the Kebbi State workforce in retirement, approval of a cumulative amount of N30,280,792,650.04 comprising of N20,105,129,647.54 for the period of 2015 to 2018.

And another amount of N10,175,663,002.50 representing the payments of balances of 2017, 2018, and full payments of 2019 to 2021 verified retirees totaling 3,724 was granted.

This is to ensure the improved general welfare of the retired civil servants of the State in line with the administration’s welfare policy, the statement added.

This calls for celebration though in Kano we are in the period of endless waiting with thousands of pensioners yet to collect their gratuity as per back as 2015
