Federal Lawmaker Sponsors 60 Students to Study Health-Related Courses in Sokoto

A seasoned member of the House of Representatives Hon. Musa Sarkin Adar representing Gada/Goronyo Federal Constituency has sponsored 30 students each from the two council areas he represented to study health-related courses in health Institutions in the state.

The lawmaker disclosed this while chairing a 3-day training workshop for health and community social welfare workers on emergency intervention for the control of diseases in Gada and Goronyo LGAs held on Monday at Soul Care Hotel, Sokoto.

The three-day training workshop was organized by BHIZA Universal-Investment limited in collaboration with Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

He appealed to health personnel in health institutions around the state to dispose of all used materials and other clinical waste to avoid contamination with water.

He charged participants at the workshop to brace up for the task of providing emergency intervention for the control of communicable diseases such as Cholera, Tuberculosis, Measles, and meningitis among others.

Hon. Adar is the longest-serving member of the house of representatives from Sokoto state and also holds the ticket for the 5th term of four years.

He said among the 60 students sponsored, 20 would be female that’s 10 in each of the two local governments while 20 each would be male students respectively.

According to him, the measure is aimed to increase the level of manpower needed in primary healthcare centers and dispensaries in rural areas.

He commended the organizers of the training workshop for their foresight and commitment to improving the healthcare delivery system in the state.
