Senator Muhammadu Adamu Aliero has withdrew his intention to participate in the scheduled primaries for Kebbi Central Senatorial District under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The Senator in a letter to the National Chairman of the APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, dated 27 of May,2022 said his decision to withdraw from the Senatorial primaries of the party in Kebbi State became necessary in the face of the irregularities in the delegates list.
“My withdrawal will enable me to confer with my people, political associates on the next line of action.
Adamu Aleiro who was expected to contest the Kebbi Central Senatorial seat with the incumbent, Governor Bagudu.
“I am a rallying point and leader who must at all times be subject to, and ready to defend the interest of those who have reposed their trust in me.
“The primaries in the state will be shambolic and patently fraudulent because the delegates list comprised of people handpicked by the governor to do his bidding,” Aleiro said.
He explained that the amended constitution of the APC prescribed that delegates for the indirect primaries of the party are to be democratically elected.
“You will recall how I put myself out for peace and harmony of our party not only in Kebbi but in other states.
“I work assiduously to assist you in unifying the party across the country. I would not withdraw from the Senatorial primaries without cogent reasons,” he added.
