Kano Pillars football club came from behind and beat Kwara United 2-1 on matchday twenty-seven in the ongoing 2021/2022 Npfl Season on Wednesday at MKO Abiola Stadium Abuja.

Kwara United football club took the lead in the first half which gave them an opportunity to go to the first half break leading by 0-1.

In the second half, Kano Pillars intensified their efforts and equalized the goal with a heading by Jerry Alex after he received a pass from Mustapha Jibrin inside the box.

Auwalu Ali aka Malam revived the confidence of Kano Pillars football club from the relegation battle with a winning goal in the last quarter of the game with a powerful heading outside the box.

In his post-match conference with journalists, Kano Pillars Chief Coach, Ibrahim A. Musa thanked God and commended his players for working hard to win the cracker.

He said it is not good for the northern teams and Nigeria football the situation of Kano Pillars Fc in the league and that is why they are not to fold their arms and allowed Pillars Fc to go to relegation.

“It is not a good team like Pillars Fc is battling relegation, Pillars is a great team that is why we are always telling our players don’t allow the team to go down if pillars go down is like northerners goes down and we must work hard to see that pillars are out of their current position,” Coach Ibrahim said.

In the first half, the players didn’t play very well but when they retired to the dressing room for the half-time break, they talked to them and realized their opponent’s weakness and strength and work on that and got the two goals that gave them the maximum points in the game, he added.

The Chief Coach said now their next target is to go to match day twenty-eight next week against MFM Football club in ijebu Ode to win in order to recover the points they lost against Niger Tornadoes football club last week at Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna.

With this result, Kano Pillars have moved to the seventeenth position from second to the last on the table with thirty points in twenty-six matches they played.
