A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has on Wednesday ruled that the former governor of Zamfara State Abdulaziz Yari temporarily forfeits about 10 properties and some funds in his account to the government.
Naija News reports that Justice Obiora Egwuatu gave the order while ruling in an ex-parte application by the lawyer to the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC), Osuobeni Ekoi Akponimisingha.
He said the seizure would last for a period of 60days and help the ICPC conduct a proper investigation before the commission apply for final forfeiture.
The judge also ordered the ICPC to publicize the order so that those who were affected by the forfeiture could come forward and lay their complaints.
Locations of some of the properties include Maryland (USA), Abuja, Kaduna, among others.
