A member of the National Assembly representing Yabo/Shagari Federal Constituency Abubakar Umar (Danbukari) has granted Scholarships for Study to 2400 students in Yabo and Shagari local Governments between February to April 2021.
The National Assembly Member disclosed this while speaking to Arewa voice in Sokoto.
He said education is a key to development as he would do whatever it takes to improve the lots of Education in the area.
He said the aim of the scholarship grants is to motivate less privileged parents to allow their Sons and Daughters who could not further their education to tertiary level due to lack of funding to back to school.
According to him most of the beneficiaries of the scholarship are children of the less privileged devoid of political inclination, adding that the award of scholarships to students in the constituency would be a continuous process not until the end of his tenure.
“I have constructed a block of six classrooms in Yabo as part of an effort to increase enrollment of pupils and as well decongest the already overstretched classrooms which make difficult for teachers to control.
He said he is instrumental in the construction of the 26 kilometers Dingyadi/Bakale road as part of his constituency projects worth 488 million Naira.
The first phase of the road project is at the appreciable level of completion, while the second phase has since been captured in the 2022 appropriations.
He said when completed the road would be a major route for farmers who want to market their crops to other markets around the state especially Onion and Galic.
He said efforts would be made by him to see the Dam expansion and construction of more channels for passage of water to irrigation farms around the Dam site for improved irrigation activities which forestall rural-urban migration.
