It was show of shame on Tuesday when the Speaker, Jigawa state Assembly, Hon Idris Garba and Clark of the House were busy chatting while some members were sleeping as report of 2022 state budget was presented to the Chamber.
The report of the house committee on appropriation was presented to the house by Chairman of the Committee, Hon Suleiman Musa Kadara with little attention from the members.
However, members of various committee appeared to be ignorant of the activities of their committee as many contradictions and inefficiencies were observed in the report.
The house was compelled to cancel some of the amendments, adjustments and recommendations made in the budget as against the earlier copy presented by the state Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar.
The members had in the report recommended for the increase of N744 million to make constituency project allocation N2.5 billion and equally kicked against replacing 10-year-old cars of 27 local government chairmen.
After third reading of the budget report, the house had unanimously passed the budget with amendments.
Before passing the budget, the house had acknowledged the contradiction and moved to make virement law after signing the budget by the executive.
The house sitting was presided by the Speaker. Hon Idris Garba while many members made no single contribution during the sitting.
