NUJ Sets Up Constitution Review Committee

The National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Chris Isiguzo has set up a 9-man committee to review its constitution.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the National Secretary, Shuaibu Leman and made available to newsmen on Monday.

According to the statement, it is in line with the campaign promise of the President, Comrade Chris Isiguzo to review the Union’s constitution, that the National Secretariat has approved the appointment of the following as Members of the Constitution Review Committee.

Helen Udofa​​​​-​Member

Roland Osakue​​​-​Member

Iduma .O. Iduma​​​-​Member

The Committee’s terms of reference of the are:

“To study carefully the present constitution to ascertain areas/sections that require amendment.

“Request and collate submissions from state councils/stakeholders on areas/sections for amendment.

“Compile a comprehensive proposal for amendment

“Submit a clean draft of the proposal to the National Secretariat. The draft will be used as working document at the Constitution Review Conference.”

The Committee has 3 months to submit its report, the statement added.
