The Managing Director, Kano Road and Traffic Agency KAROTA has announced the sacking of one of his personnel RTA II Jamilu Gambo.
Gambo was dismissed on Thursday following his unprofessional conduct at his duty post where he destroyed a trailer’s tires as a result of argument between him and the trailer’s driver.
KAROTA Spokesperson, Nabilusi Abubakar Kofar Naisa in a statement said the development led to close down of the Kano-Hadejia Road by other trailer drivers in solidarity to their affected member which caused untold hardship on commuters and other drivers playing that route.
According to the statement, during an emergency meeting with the State Commissioner of Police, it was unanimously agreed the unscrupulous and undisciplined KAROTA Staff be relieved of his duties.
The Managing Director, KAROTA, Hon. Baffa Babba Dan’agundi appreciates the leadership of the NARTO Kano Branch and the Police for their quick intervention in the matter which would have resulted to a mob action.
“Anyone found wanting at his duty post would not be spared,” he assured.
On behalf of the Agency, he apologized to the public whose movements were delayed as a result of the incidence.
The statement also announced that the sacked KAROTA officer was asked to pay for the damaged vehicle and has since been handed over to the Police for further investigation.
