The Kano State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa has commended the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) for its commitment in improving health care services in Kano.
PHIMA spokesperson, Abba Dalha Sorondinki in a statement said the Commissioner made the commendation during a dinner organized by the Association as part of the activities lined up for the celebration of the NMA Physician week.
Dr. Tsanyawa, who was represented at the occasion by the Executive Secretary, Private Health Institutions Management Agency (PHIMA), Dr. Usman Tijjani Aliyu, added that the association exhibited exemplary commitment in improving health care services in Kano through building the capacity of healthcare workers and conducting numerous specialty surgeries across local governments, among others.
According to the statement, Awards were presented by the commissioner to former NMA Chairmen and secretaries for their outstanding performances when in office.
The Chief Medical Officer of Kwanar Dawaki Isolation center was also awarded for his hard work and dedication in combating the menace of Covid 19 in the state.
Dr. Usman Tijjani Aliyu was accompanied to the dinner by the Chief Medical Directors of MMSH and MAWTH, MDCAN Chairman AKTH and CMAC AKTH.
