The Nigeria Army has established a department which will fundamentally operate with relevant stakeholders with a view to bring an end to security challenges facing the county.
Chief of army staff Lieutenant general Faruk Yahaya stated this at the Second National Summit of the Nigeria Army education Corps held in Sokoto.
He said the Nigeria army remains resolute in its drive to ensure security of lives and property of all citizens.
General Yahaya said the summit is a platform that would inspire and strengthen the capacity of armed forces to be professionally equipped and other stakeholders through coordinated initiative by encouraging vigilance and revelation of vital information to the army and other security agencies.
The Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar in his remarks during the occasion advised the education sector to come up with modalities that would promote teaching and learning through the use of indigenous languages in the county.
The Sultan further cautioned against allowing religious extremists and fundamentalist to destabilize the country.
He said Nigerians need to be guided by true teachings of their major religions that have direct bearing to understanding and tolerance of one another for socio security economic development of the county.
According to the revered leader who was chairman of the occasion said religious extremism is one of the most fundamental and critical challenges disturbing not only Nigeria but the global environment.
He noted that the summit and the choice of theme came at the right time when the country was bedeviled by the challenges of banditry, kidnapping and related security issues threatening the peace and survival of citizens.
In a good will message, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal commended the army education corps for muting the idea of the summit and choice of theme.
He stressed the need for the summit to not only dwell on paper work but to ensure the implementation of its outcome.
He emphasized the need to commit selves to result oriented researches as critical tool for addressing challenges affecting the country’s development.
