Qatar Education for All Partners Sokoto State Government on Out-of-School Children

The executive Chairman of the Sokoto State Zakat and Endowment Commission, (SOZECOM) Muhammad Lawal Maidoki has announced at a press conference that Qatar Charity Education for All foundation will partner Sokoto state Government on out of School children.

He said the partnership was part of the discussions and resolutions reached with the Non-Governmental Organization when Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and his entourage visited Republic of Qatar recently.

He noted that, Sokoto State also engaged in other collaborations with the NGO in the areas of Economic Empowerment, Education, Mining and Energy.

He said, Sokoto State has benefited so much with numerous gestures from Qatar Education for All in the last two years of their humanitarian activities in the state.

According to him the Qatar charity foundation has engaged itself in the going construction of 150 Housing Units for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Gandi Camp, Rabah local government, the multi-purpose centre for Orphans along Birnin Kebbi road Sokoto, construction and drilling of fifty Mosques and 90 boreholes for communities.

Others are free eyecare surgery and medical check for 100 and six medical outreaches across districts for needy patients.

The rest are grants of scholarships to over 200 orphans to study in Qatar as well as distribution of 150 goats and 100 grinding machines to the mothers of orphans respectively.

He noted that it is in appreciation of the gestures that, the state governor decided to pay a thank you visit to Qatar and explore more areas of collaboration for the benefit of the people of the state.
