Yobe State Governor Governor Mai Mala Buni has approved the revised retirement age for Teachers from 60 years to 65 years and length of service year from 35 to 40 years respectively whichsoever come first.
A statement signed by the Head of Service Muhammad B. Nura and issued by Alhassan Sule Mamudo, information officer, office of the head of civil service read;
“It should however be noted that the reversed retirement Age/years of Service is not automatic as officers will be required to demonstrate fitness after medical examination and those found to be unfit will be advised to retire accordingly”.
“This gesture is limited to Education Officers/Teaching staff only, and it is with immediate effects.”
