The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Jigawa state Command has burnt down one of the notorious junctions of drug abuse in Kazaure local government area while over 134 suspects were arrested.
The State Commandant, NDLEA, Hajiya Maryam Sani revealed this while addressing newsmen on the outcome of two weeks operation against hideouts and other suspected joints of drug abuse in the state.
She said, the operation which was conducted across all the 27 local government areas of the state aimed at dislodging the suspected joints (Black Spots) in the communities.
The Commandant explained that in the cause of raiding the Black Spots, 132 male and two female suspected drug abusers were arrested.
“Among the suspects were two traditional rulers, two females, two public servants, civil servants and 25 students of various Institutions in the state.
“During the two weeks dislodgement exercise, abundant seizure was made including cycho-tropic substance of 2.559kg with accumulated grant total of 5.974 kg of various drugs.
“Some of the suspects were released after they registered for two to three weeks counselling, and the information extracted from the suspect will be use to trace and arrest the suspected drugs dealers.” she declared
She therefore said the Black Spots were found in Dutse, the state capital, Hadejia, Gumel, Kazaure, Babura, Birninkudu and other local government areas across the state.
