In an effort to perfect plans for better implementation of the deliberations of the Kano Mutual Accountability Framework (KanoMAF), during the strategic dialogue between Kano state government and UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), which resulted to a working document, governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje signed the agreement with the FCDO Development Director, Dr Christopher Pycroft.
The event took place on Thursday at Dawakin Tofa Model Primary school, in the presence of some top government functionaries, FCDO team and an array of other development partners.
A statement by Ganduje’s spokesperson, Abba Anwar said the Document’s areas of interest are Human and Capital Development, which consists of health and education sectors, governance/social protection and sustainable economic transformation.
Monitoring and evaluation, according to the strategy dialogue, are part of the requisite for the implementation of the framework.
According to the statement, during the dialogue session on Wednesday, there were open and frank discussions, particularly during the technical sessions, that were aimed at identifying constraints and windows of opportunities on how best can FCDO support the state in addressing them.
As observed by Dr Pycroft, that, “We aim to leave this meeting with a clear sense of the scope of our cooperation and how we can hold each other mutually accountable in the coming months and years ahead.”
