Kano Pillars Fc says they were surprised when they received the verdict from the LMC on Monday for the incident that happened on match day 27 against Akwa United Fc, Sunday, at Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna which ended 0-0 in the ongoing 2020/2021 Npfl season.
This was disclosed by the chairman of the club, Alhaji Surajo Shaaibu Yahaya jambul shortly after receiving the verdict.
Alhaji Surajo Shaaibu Yahaya jambul said he was shocked when he first heard of the verdict from the Media before he received it officially, adding that it looks like people are just waiting to find sai masu gida wanting.
“We received the verdict that LMC is charging us for breaching the covid-19 Protocol by permitting the spectators to be at venue of the match and encroachment during the match with fine of over seven million naira but we are studying the judgement for our final decision,” chairman said.
On the issue of failure to provide adequate security in the Stadium, the chairman said he need clarification between the club and Football Association who is responsible to provide the security in the Stadium.
He said: “since sai masu gida adopted Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna as their adopted home ground this season, they are providing all the logistics requested by Kaduna state football association about security in all its home matches so why is Pillars Fc to being blamed.”
Alhaji Surajo Shaaibu Yahaya jambul said Kano Pillars Fc didn’t sale tickets and didn’t invite anybody to the stadium and he don’t know how manage the fans got there.
He then advised the authority concern to study carefully how their match against Akwa United Fc was handled so as to correct some of the mistakes that had happened during the match in future.
“We are law abiding citizens and we would continue doing our possible best to promote the league and Nigeria football at large but always let the justice be done,” he said.
