The Association of Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGON) Kebbi state wing has condoled the people of Ngaski Local Government and Yauri Emirate over the recent death of over 100 people in a Boat accident in Warrah town head quarters of Ngaski Local Government area.
The leader of the delegation who double as Kebbi state ALGON Chairman honourable Sani Mashal Jega said the Association received the disturbing report of the accident with shock.
He said they were in the area to condole and commensurate with the people and families of the deceased victims of the Boat accident which claims the precious lives of so many people.
The ALGON chairman who was in company of Zuru local Government chairman, that of Gwandu, Maiyama, Koko/Besse and Yauri local Governments expressed sadness with the number of deaths recorded in that single accident.
He said though there is no way the people of the area would avoid using Boats or Canue for transportation being a riverain area, but there is need for them to be extra careful and avoid over loading and even night journey.
Mashal further said what happen in Warrah was a destiny and it was destined by Allah to happen and no one can stop that, but measures must to be put in place by owners of such Boats to protect their passengers in the event of accidents and unforeseen disasters while in the rivers.
Honourable Sani Mashal who is the chairman of Jega Local Government on behalf of all 21 Kebbi state local Government chairmen prayed Allah to grant the souls of the departed victims of the Boat accident eternal rest amin.
