Police in Kano have rescued a fifteen-year-old Aisha Jibrin who was solitarily confined for ten (10) years in a room by her biological parents.
The parents of Aisha, one Mohd Jibrin and Rabi Mohd of the same address had her confined inside their house without proper feeding and health care at Darerawa Quarters, Fagge Local Government Area.
The Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), Kano Command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna in a signed statement, Tuesday, said the mother of the victim Rabi Muhammad have been arrested and effort is in progress to arrest the father who is currently at large.
The PPRO said the victim, upon rescue was rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, Kano, where she is currently receiving treatment.
According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, fsi (Nagari-Nakowa) has ordered that case be transferred to the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for discrete investigation.
