Sultan Turbans 3 Dasuki Sons, 17 Others

Sultan Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar turbans 20 personalities, including 3 sons of the 18th Sultan of the Caliphate, late Sultan Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki.

The three sons of the former Sultan Ibrahim Dasuki, Abubakar, Abdulkadir and Abdussamad Dasuki, were conferred with the tittles of Dan Maje, Durbi and Santuraki respectively.

The turbaning ceremony of 20 personalities which is the first of its kind drew people from far and near including the former Governor of Kogi state, Ibrahim Idris who was conferred with the tittle of Jekadan Sokoto and the Managing Director, Nigeria Automotive Design and Development Commission (NADDC) Jelani Aliyu Dogondaji who bagged the tittle of Barade Sokoto.

Others were the former Minister of Transport, Yusuf Suleiman, Professor Ahmad Tijjani Mora who bagged the titles of Dan Amar Sakkwato and Kayayen Sarkin Musulmi while Alhaji Musa Bashar, father of oil mogul in the country, Abdurrahman popularly known as Rahmaniyya Global resources limited   bagged the tittle of Mayanan Sakkwato.

Also, in the list of those turbaned were Alhaji Mukhtari Maigona as Zannan Sakkwato Dahiru Abbas, Sarkin Gandun Sakkwato, Sada Bello, Marafan Yan Sarki, Yusuf Abubakar III, Cigarin Sakkwato, Haliru Maccido, Danruwataun  Sakkwato and Aminu Buhari as Dan Malikin Sakkwato as well as Aminu Bala as Dan Iyan Sakkwato.

Mai’akwai Lamido and Mustapha Garba bagged the titles of Sarkin Gabas and Dandarman Sakkwato while Faruk Ahmad bagged Danmadami.

Addressing the new tittle holders, Sultan Sa’ad said the titles were in recognition of their selfless services to humanity and their country.

“None of you lobbied for it. You were selected based on merit and devoid of any political consideration,” Sultan said.

He said it was the first time, the Sultanate council conferred traditional titles on large number of people who were drawn from different parts of the country.

According to him the Sultanate council would continue to select individuals that made sterling contribution to the socioeconomic development of the country and rewards them with its traditional titles irrespective of their geographical locations.

The Sultan prayed Allah to restore peace in the country.

Dignitaries at the ceremony which took place at the Sultan Palace include, Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, former Governor of Adamawa state, Jibrilla Bindow, former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki and former Givernorship Candidate of PDP in Kano state who is fondly called “Abba Gidagida” among others too numerous to mention.

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and his deputy, Manir Muhammad Daniya and Senator Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir were also at the historic event.
