Governor Abdullah Umar Ganduje has directed immediate closure of boarding schools in the outskirt of the state over increasing security challenges and abduction of students in the North.
The State Commissioner for Education, Muhammad Sanusi Kiru announced this on Friday, noting that the state government after considering the security situations in some neighbouring states deem it fit to be proactive by closing down some of the schools.
The affected schools are:
1. GSS Ajingi
2. GGASS Sumaila
3. Karaye Unity College
4. GGASS Jogana
5. GGASS Gezawa
6. GSS Kafin Maiyaƙi
7. MSSC Gaya
8. GGSS Kachako
9. GGSS Unguwar Gyartai
10. GGASS Albasu.
The Commissioner appealed to parents to immediately proceed to the schools to pick their children, adding that the reopening of the schools would be announced later.
