Tricycle Owners/Riders Association and Kano Road traffic agency (KAROTA) have resolved their differences following a meeting summoned by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Kano Chapter and other stakeholders on Tuesday, urging the tricycle riders to quickly call-off the two days strike action.
Addressing Newsmen shortly after the meeting, NCL Chairman, Comrade Kabiru Ado Minjibir said part of the agreement reached is that the tricycle riders will pay the daily levy.
“All tricycle riders will pay the daily N100 tax as provided by the State Revenue Board Laws.”
He said the first payment of would be done through REMITA to enable data captured in Kano Revenue Board/KARATA Cyber, which will be done within two weeks effective from 23rd of February 2021.
Comrade Minjibir said after the first payment through REMITER, subsequent payments can be done through their androids phones or POS on an option of daily payment, monthly, quarterly or yearly.
He said they have already contacted hire purchase owners to assist the tricycles riders in providing additional remitter points to enable them to make payment with ease.
On his part, the Managing Director of KAROTA, Baffa Babba Danagundi said the government has accepted the resolution and is ready to work on it.
