Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has commended northern youths for resisting all temptation orchestrated to cajole them into violence and act of nation disunity.
The Governor stated this while speaking at the official commissioning ceremony of N3 Billion Babura township road in Jigawa state.
Ebonyi Governor who was invited by Jigawa state Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar to assist him in commissioning the project said, he was very excited with how he was received and also how he found Ibo people living in peace with their host community.
He said, those in-sighting violence, promoting hatreds and animosity among Nigeria are devils and they will certainly put to shame by the Almighty God who in his wisdom and wish bring us together under one Nigeria.
“Those spinning the ember of violence, I don’t no what they want achieve, without Nigeria who are they?
Governor Umahi then urged northern youth to firmly maintain their believe in one Nigeria, and also continue to be brother’s keeper to every Nigerian in respect of religion, tribe or geographical location.
The governor promises to work for the unity of Nigeria and also ensure full protection of northerners living in Igbo land and all other part of southern Nigeria.
In the same vein, a prominent politician, Alhaji Farouk Adamu Aliyu pleaded with the Northern youths not to allowed enemy drift them into any violent acts capable of creating unrest and disunity in Nigeria.
Alhaji Farouk Adamu who was a former minority leader in the house of representatives made the appeal shortly after revalidating his membership of All Progressive Congress at his country home, Birnin kudu local government of Jigawa state.
Alhaji Farouk asked citizens to restrain themselves from all temptation to act against the law, stating that there are certain elements that are hell bent in trying to cause trouble through divisive means.
He assured that perpetuators in-sighting violence in some parts of the country would definitely be brought to book to face their wrath of the law.
